| Classification Cough & Cold Remedies Indications Relief of symptoms associated w/ allergic rhinitis & common cold including nasal congestion, sneezing, rhinorrhea, pruritus & lacrimation. Dosage Repetab Adult & childn >12 yr 1 tab bid. Syr Adult & childn>12 yr; wt>30 kg 5 mL bid. Childn 6-12 yr; wt<30 kg 2.5 mL bid. Contraindications Patients receiving MAOI therapy or w/in 14 days of discontinuing such treatment. Narrow-angle glaucoma, urinary retention, severe hypertension, severe coronary artery disease, hyperthyroidism. Precautions Glaucoma, stenosing peptic ulcer, pyloroduodenal obstruction, prostatic hypertrophy or bladder neck obstruction, CV disease, increased intraocular pressure or diabetes mellitus. Elderly Adverse Reactions Insomnia, dry mouth. Interactions Methyldopa, mecamylamine, reserpine, veratrum alkaloids, beta-blockers, digitalis, antacids, kaolin. |
