| Classification Anti-Anginal Drugs Indications Acute angina pectoris. Prevents an attack before physical stress. To decreases elevated filling pressure in acute MI. Adjuvant therapy in emergency cases of left heart insufficiency( asthma cardiale). Dosage 1-2 doses sublingually to the sitting patient. If necessary, give max of 3 doses but only w/ in 15 min. Before exercise 1 puff 5-10 min before activity. Contraindications Narrow canthus glaucoma, pronounced hypotension, increased intracranial pressure, cardiogenic shock. Concomitant sildenafil intake. Precautions Avoid inhalation. Adverse Reactions Transient burning sensation in the mouth, pulsating feeling in the head, facial flush, dizziness. Interactions Diuretics/hypovolemia may ensue during prolonged combined treatment, risk of increased hypotension. Antihypertensives, tricyclic antidepressants, sildenafil. |
